Escape Planner (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: your email address and authentication credentials, used to create and secure your account.
• Plan data: credit card balances, APRs, minimum payments, and extra payments you choose to save to your account. We do not ask for or store full credit card numbers, CVVs, or banking credentials.
• Billing information: processed and stored by Polar (our Merchant of Record); we receive only a customer ID, subscription status, and the last 4 digits of your card.
• Usage data: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited), used for security, debugging, and product improvement.

2. How We Use Information

• Operate the calculator and save the plans you create.
• Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• Process payments and manage subscriptions.
• Send transactional emails (receipts, password resets, weekly digests).
• Improve the Service and diagnose problems.
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run Escape Planner:

• Supabase — database and authentication.
• Polar — payment processing and Merchant of Record.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• Vercel — application hosting and analytics.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Escape Planner or others.

4. Cookies

We use first-party cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your theme preference. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time by emailing us; we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (for example, tax records).

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email info@escapeplanner.tech.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures — TLS in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and access controls on production systems — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure; you use the Service at your own risk.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we will delete it.

9. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than the one in which you reside. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the “Effective” date above and, where appropriate, by email.
